Why choose it
The point is scale without bus transfers. Courchevel, Méribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens and Orelle are tied together by lifts, so strong groups can roam all day.
Terrain and daily flow
600 km linked skiing. Current official press figures list 334 pistes: 53 green, 136 blue, 108 red and 37 black.
Useful on the ground
Good ski schools, beginner zones, mountain restaurants, lift-linked villages and enough rental shops to keep logistics simple.
Choose the right valley
The domain is one product on the piste map, but the villages deliver very different weeks.
Courchevel
Choose it for polished services, broad family infrastructure and several village levels; check the exact altitude and lift at your address.
Méribel
The most practical base for skiers who want to cross toward both Courchevel and the Belleville valley without beginning at one end of the domain.
Les Menuires or Val Thorens
Les Menuires usually suits value-focused families; Val Thorens favours high-altitude skiing, compact logistics and a livelier atmosphere.
Saint-Martin, Brides or Orelle
These quieter gateways trade doorstep convenience for village character or lower-valley lodging. Build the first lift and last return into the plan.
Pass and ski-day strategy
Do not pay for the full domain by reflex; match the pass to the group's real pace.
First-time and cautious skiers
Use one valley well before attempting a cross-domain day. The green and blue terrain is extensive, but connections still consume time.
Comfortable intermediates
Plan one neighbouring valley per day and mark the final return lifts before leaving breakfast. Weather can make a planned link a local day.
Strong skiers
A full-domain pass unlocks the scale, but 600 km is not a one-day checklist. Select a circuit and keep a margin for queues and route changes.
Before you book
A resort name alone does not prove direct slope access or an efficient week.
Ski-in / ski-out
Verify the exact building, return piste and snow-dependent section. A property in a ski-in/ski-out resort can still require a walk or shuttle.
Non-skiers
Check pedestrian lifts and village shuttles against the chosen address. Moving between valleys without skis is not the same as skiing between them.
Arrival day
Confirm the transfer to the final village, not just the route to Moûtiers. Late arrivals can lose the last public connection.
