Why choose it
Sunny, readable and broad. La Sarenne gives advanced skiers a long black-run target, while the lower areas keep the trip approachable.
Terrain and daily flow
250 km of skiing across five linked resorts, with 111 runs. The high point reaches 3,330 m at Pic Blanc.
Useful on the ground
Large beginner areas, family-friendly services, snowmaking, linked villages, a snow park and many practical rental/ski-school options.
Choose your entrance
The connected villages share skiing but not the same evening, transfer or beginner experience.
Alpe d'Huez
The broadest choice of lifts, ski schools, shops and nightlife. Check whether the address is near Bergers, Grandes Rousses, Eclose or another internal sector.
Oz 3300 or Vaujany
Oz offers a compact high village; Vaujany combines a traditional lower village with modern uplift, but the first and last lift shape the day.
Auris-en-Oisans
A family-oriented, quieter base with its own snow front and a cross-domain link; allow time when returning from the main Alpe d'Huez side.
Villard-Reculas
A small traditional village with direct domain access, suited to calm evenings and skiers comfortable planning around a limited local service base.
Pass and ski-day strategy
The vertical and spread reward route planning more than a list of famous runs.
Beginners
Use the snow front nearest the accommodation before crossing sectors. A simple return is more valuable than maximum mileage.
Intermediates
Build one sector loop at a time and reserve enough height and time for the village return, especially from Auris or the Oz-Vaujany side.
Advanced skiers
Treat Pic Blanc and long descents as weather- and operation-dependent objectives. Confirm the current openings before committing to the route.
Before you book
Internal transport can rescue a weak address, but it does not turn every property into ski-in / ski-out.
Alpe d'Huez districts
Free urban lifts connect parts of the resort to Bergers and Grandes Rousses. Map the accommodation to the actual station, not just the town name.
Village returns
Confirm the final connecting lift and piste for the chosen village. Wind or closure can materially change the route home.
Arrival transfer
Check the final coach or private transfer to the exact village. Alpe d'Huez, Oz, Vaujany and Auris are not interchangeable road destinations.
